Scouting Report

Gwinn has marginal height and adequate weight. Displays good AA with very good contact balance, play strength, solid acceleration, COD, and foot quickness. Shows good inside running ability with good vision to read his blocks, solid burst to shoot through the gaps, and uses very good contact balance, play strength, and good competitive toughness to lower his shoulder, take on tacklers in the hole, and fight for extra yards through contact. Adequate outside running; doesn’t have the acceleration to beat defenders to the edge nor does he have the combination of COD + speed to make guys miss and burn upfield. Adequate long speed; will get caught in open space at the next level. Adequate elusiveness; isn’t going to make guys miss. Adequate route development; didn’t show much route running on tape. Going to be your bruiser-type back who you can count on to fight for extra yards. Shouldn’t be used on outside runs that require him to beat defenders to the edge, but rather should be utilized in a role that emphasizes inside runs that spotlight his contact balance and play strength to gain those tough yards.
