As the weather transitions to warmth again, along with that comes
spring football. Everyone now gets a glance at their favorite team’s
roster, and potential to win games. That also comes with early
enrollees, whom can make plays themselves. Here I name my top
freshman who will make their name known coming out of spring
ball continuing with the Big 12.
1. WR Quentin Gibson, Colorado
As only a three-star prospect coming out, you would think
he is just a mediocre player with potential to be a player one day.
With Gibson that is not the case in the slightest. He was so good
that he led his North Crawley (Texas) team to 16-0 record and a 7A
state title. Along the way he racked up 93 receptions for a whopping
2,009 yards and 36 touchdowns, which earned him the 2024
MaxPreps National Player of the Year. That alone should give you a
glimpse of what he can do. He is a complete blur on the field when
he touches the ball, and has even already made plays in spring ball. I
fully expect to see him on the field early for the Buffaloes.

2. TE AJ Ia, Arizona State
The big 6-foot-6 target out of Southern California is an exciting
prospect to say the least. Not only does he have the athleticism to
compete with anyone, but he also has the ball skills to go along with
it. He is a smooth route runner with great hands. His basketball
pedigree is a major plus that helps out with that along with the other
various sports he plays. He can improve his speed along with
blocking, but that all comes with time. The main thing is Ia can
play ball, and I see him being at least in the two-deep when spring
ball concludes.

3. LB Cyrus Polu, Utah
Coming in as a four-star recruit or even a high three-star that the coaches truly believe in, a lot is expected of you.
Most times with it being sooner than later. For Polu that
shouldn’t be much of a problem, especially with his accolades. He
was first-team All-State as a sophomore along with being a finalist
for the 2024 Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year
award as a senior. He is a pure athlete that plays full speed at all
times. He can line up off the edge at linebacker and terrorize the
quarterback as well as dropping back in coverage and making plays.
We should here his name a lot this upcoming season.

4. RB Michael Turner, Baylor
Turner is simply a grown man on the field. Not
only with his play, but with just his sheer size and build. While still
only being a teenager, obviously, he stands at 6-foot, 200 pounds already,
while looking even bigger. He was banged up his senior year, but as
a junior he racked up almost 1,700 yards rushing along with 23
touchdowns. He is a ultra smooth runner who doesn’t get caught
when he’s in the open field. I certainly believe he can carve out a
role for himself, especially with him being the highest-rated commitment at the position in program history.
BOOM
North Richland Hills (Tex.) Richland Top247 running back Michael Turner has committed to Baylor over TCU, SMU and several others.
Turner, the No. 11 running back in the country, is the highest-rated commitment at the position in Bears’ history.

5. WR Terry Shelton, TCU
Shelton comes in as the most ballyhooed prospect on
this entire list, and for good reason. Standing at 6-foot-4 with the speed
to go along with it, I see him breaking out immediately. You just
don’t find recruits like this often with this type of skillset that you
can’t teach. As a senior he accumulated 57 catches for almost 1,000
yards and 15 touchdowns. He also was a great basketball player,
which will only help him out on the football field. He still has to
polish up the route running skills along with the other nuances of
playing wide receiver, but the talent oozes out of him. It won’t be
long before you hear his name often.
Let’s take a look at #TCU newest commit 4-Star WR Terry Shelton.
Terry stands at 6’4, 200 lbs and plays out of Ranchview High School in Irving,TX.
