There is a constant facilities battle going on across the country. Every program wants to stay updated to try and impress all of the high school and transfer recruits. And because of this, schools go above-and-beyond to accomplish this.

Usually that battle is between the “blue blood” programs, but someone new is crashing the party:

While Texas Tech is never mentioned in the same breath as the Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State and the Georgia’s of the college football world, things are quickly changing in Lubbock. Last week I posted an article about one of their top doners, Cody Campbell, selling his company for $4.1B (read here) which potentially gives the Red Raiders an endless flow of resources. Then ironically, Texas Tech posted the above information revealing their newest facilities which they call “the best facility in college football.” And they may be right.

This project cost the Red Raiders $242M, which is not an amount most programs can drop on facilities. The player’s lounge, locker room, trophy room and barber shop are just a few of the improvements that have everyone talking. And these impressive improvements come before Campbell’s new influx of money.

If you wanted more proof that Texas Tech is serious, this is it. When the top facilities are mentioned, schools like Oregon, Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU and Nebraska are usually mentioned first. Now you can add the Red Raiders to the list, and possibly at the top.
