After 10 games in the 2023 season, the Texas A&M Aggies fired head coach Jimbo Fisher and brought on former Defensive Coordinator and 2022 ACC Coach of the Year Mike Elko. Fisher’s nearly six-year tenure was positive overall (except for 5-7 2022 season), but fans should still be excited for the future under Elko after a 6-1 start in the 2024 season. Elko and the Aggies are looking to build on their start in the future, and that starts with the 2025 recruiting class led by quarterback Husan Longstreet.

Husan Longstreet

Corona, CA (Centennial)

#28 NAT, #4 QB, #2 CA

At 6’2” and 195 lbs., Husan Longstreet has a great build for a dual-threat quarterback. Longstreet possesses great arm strength with a quick throwing motion that allows him to get throws off with pressure coming at him. He’s mobile and has a great pocket presence, which allows him to step up and make a throw or run to buy more time. Longstreet has shown that he can make throws on the run while being chased out of the pocket, a tool that will surely be useful in the SEC. Longstreet is a patient runner which allows him to see the field and attack holes in the defense. Through three seasons at Centennial, Longstreet has tallied 4,355 passing yards, 38 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a 65% completion rate. On the ground, Longstreet has added 1,070 yards and 13 touchdowns over 136 carries while fumbling three times.

Husan Longstreet is the brother of Texas A&M cornerback Kevin Longstreet Jr. Additionally, Husan Longstreet received an Elite 11 invite and an invitation to the Polynesian Bowl.

Longstreet held 31 offers but chose the Aggies over schools like Louisville, Auburn, and BYU.

Centennial Huskies Quarterback Husan Longstreet (4) catches the ball at Liberty High School on Sept. 21, 2024, in Peoria.

DJ Sanders

Bellville, TX (Bellville)

#62 NAT, #11 DL, #14 TX

At 6’4” and 290 lbs., DJ Sanders is a large presence on the defensive line. Sanders is strong and has a great awareness of the ball, as he can knock blockers into the ball carrier. Sanders is smart and quick, stripping the ball and running down the field multiple times in his junior season alone. He has a great first step and is a textbook tackler, which allows him to play inside or outside. Through his four seasons of varsity football, Sanders has totaled 247 tackles, 82 solo tackles, 40.5 tackles for loss, 35 sacks, and five fumble recoveries on five forced fumbles. Sanders has an impressive resume, and Aggies fans and staff should be excited.

DJ Sanders is the cousin of two-time pro-bowler and former SMU wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Sanders held 18 offers but chose the Aggies over schools like SMU, Texas, and Michigan.

Adonyss Currie

Lancaster, CA (Quartz Hill)

#76 NAT, #11 CB, #5 CB

At 6’1” and 170 lbs., Adonyss Currie has the solid build for a cornerback. Currie plays calm and collected with an awareness that cannot be taught. He possesses a nice vertical that, paired with his height, allows him to rise for interceptions. After interceptions, he can use his speed to help his offense or take it to the house himself. Adonyss Currie’s coaches also used his speed to occasionally blitz, which Texas A&M could utilize as well. In zone coverages, Currie is patient and secures his area. In man, Currie shows more intensity, being able to force incompletions or interceptions. Through three seasons at Quartz Hill, Currie tallied 57 total tackles, 39 solo tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, nine pass deflections, four interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Adonyss Currie also runs track, posting a 10.57-second 100-meter sprint.

Currie held 20 offers but chose the Aggies over schools like California, Oregon, and Oklahoma.
