If you are a fan of the Texas Longhorns there is a lot to be excited about. Between Head Coach Steve Sarkisian, quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning and a move from the Big 12 to the SEC, the future looks bright. On top of that, their 2025 recruiting class aims to help lead the Longhorns back to national glory.

KJ Lacey

Saraland, AL (Saraland)

#179 NAT, #13 QB, #13 AL

With Quinn Ewers leading the offense currently and Arch Manning set to be his successor, KJ Lacey aims to keep Texas winning after the current Longhorn quarterbacks. At 6’0” and 175 pounds, he’s on the smaller side of quarterbacks, but that does not stop the four-star recruit. Lacey is a two-year varsity starter, with an additional two games played his freshman year. During that time he’s tallied 83 passing touchdowns to only 13 interceptions, with nine more touchdowns on the ground. The signal-caller has thrown for more than 6800 yards at a 67.3% completion percentage.

Lacey is calm in the pocket and can extend plays with his legs. He trusts his arm to find his receivers and fit the ball into tight coverage. He has great arm strength for his size, allowing him to lead his receivers and throw on the run.

Holding over 30 offers, KJ Lacey chose the Longhorns over other power schools like Auburn, Alabama, and Colorado.

Saraland's KJ Lacey passes against Mountain Brook during the AHSAA Class 6A State Football Championship Game at Jordan Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala., on Friday December 2, 2022.

Lance Jackson

Texarkana, TX (Pleasant Grove)

#65 NAT, #10 DL, #12 TX

At 6’5” and 245 pounds, Lance Jackson is a unit on the defensive line. His build makes him a threat to any running back or quarterback and prepares him to make an immediate impact. Jackson is agile enough to get around blocks to get to the quarterback, quick to jump off blocks to fill the gaps and has elite speed for a defensive lineman. He is aggressive and possesses a high motor, which should benefit him as he progresses throughout his collegiate career.

Elijah Barnes

Dallas, TX (Skyline)

#106 NAT, #13 LB, #19 TX

At 6’1” and 220 pounds, Elijah Barnes has the physical tools to be great. A four-star recruit – and only appearing in 14 varsity high school games – Barnes totaled 65 total tackles including 12 for a loss to go along with three sacks. Additionally, Barnes had four interceptions, showcasing his dynamic coverage and pressuring abilities.

Barnes is great at waiting to read plays and is dangerous in pursuit of the ball. He possesses a maturity in the field that is difficult to find at the high school level and it is clear why he fielded over 30 offers.

Barnes chose the Texas Longhorns over schools like Ohio State, LSU and Florida.
