Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals continued to mine the transfer portal for talented players, both in December and in the spring portal window that closes at midnight of April 30th, and secured a commitment from a talented defensive end.
Mississippi State upgraded their backfield. Arkansas found a talented linebacker. Michigan State shored up their secondary, as did the Cal Bears.
RB Davon Booth
Mississippi State Bulldogs (from Utah State)
5’10”, 185 lbs.
A season ago, Davon Booth led the Aggies of Utah State in rushing with 805 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 6.71 yards per carry. Booth turned in three games of over 100 yards rushing, including a season-high 141 yards and two touchdowns in a 44-24 win over Colorado State.

Prior to last season at Utah State, Booth was named All-American by the California Community College Football Coaches Association while attending Cerritos College in California. As a 3-star prospect in two seasons of high school ball, Booth rushed for 5,364 yards and accounted for 78 total touchdowns.

LB Stephen Dix, Jr.
Arkansas Razorbacks (from Marshall)
6’1”, 237 lbs.
A terror in the middle for the Thundering Herd, Stephen Dix, Jr. racked up 67 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks. In addition, Dix recorded four games of six or more tackles, including a season-high 14 stops vs South Alabama in a shutout loss.

Prior to playing at Marshall, Dix played two seasons at Florida State, recording 58 total tackles during that time. In 2020, Dix was named a Freshman All-American.
DE Tramel Logan
Louisville Cardinals (from South Florida)
6’4”, 247 lbs.
In 2023, Tramel Logan made at least one tackle in every game he played. Logan tallied 33 tackles, along with eight tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four pass breakups, and three quarterback pressures. In addition, Logan picked off a pass and returned it 22 yards for a score.
So far in his collegiate career, Logan has 91 tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss to his credit.
DB Ed Woods
Michigan State Spartans (from Arizona State)
6’0”, 175 lbs.
Michigan State has lost approximately 13 players to the transfer, but today the Spartans picked up a talented defensive back in Ed Woods. Woods recorded 33 tackles, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one INT, and he broke up four passes. The Spartans beat out Alabama for Woods’ services.

S Ryan Yaites
California Bears (from LSU)
6’1”, 203 lbs.
The talented Ryan Yaites comes to the Cal Bears from LSU after his true freshman season in which he tallied 16 tackles and one pass breakup for the Tigers. Yaites was a Top 25 player at his position (#23), according to 247Sports Composite Rankings out of Guyer High School in Denton, TX. In addition, Yaites was ranked among the Top 50 players in the Great State of Texas.

When it came time to choose a college destination, Yaites chose LSU over recruitment overtures from Coach Prime and Colorado, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and USC.
Yaites is known for his incredible work ethic and elite-level athleticism, having excelled at track and field at Guyer. He studies the game of football and is an outstanding football player. The Bears picked up a stud athlete that will pay dividends sooner rather than later.
