Spring ball is well into motion as many teams head towards
their spring game. The main thing coaches and fans
included want to see is improvement along with the confirmation of
rumors and talk of who’s been making plays. With that comes
players who now have a chance to master their skills and earn a role. In addition, there are incoming Freshmen who enroll early
and hope to get acclimated earlier than usual in chances of getting
on the field. Here are some names who have been hot in spring
camp.
1. WR Bryant Wesco, Clemson
Clemson hasn’t had a true number one receiver since Tee Higgins was drafted back in 2020, but that will soon change. The
word around town is that true freshman Bryant Wesco is turning
heads. The burner from Texas is long and can run, while
also being able to run routes smoothly along with athleticism that helps
him high point balls and gain YAC. He will most certainly be an early contributor.

2. S (KR/PR) Boo Carter, Tennessee
The Chattanooga native was a hot commodity during the
recruiting process with Michigan, Colorado, and others trying to pry
him away, but the home team proceeded to close it out in the end. For the Vols it was
a major coop, as it was down to the last minute, but now that he has
been on campus he has not disappointed whatsoever.
While he played both
sides of the ball in high school, his primary position starting out will be safety and STAR (nickel back),
given the lack of depth in the secondary along with being a return
man. Either way it goes he has made plays, and will see the field
early in some instance.

"Boo Carter is special. He's like a playmaker out there. He flies to the ball. He has re-routed us and has made good tackles. He's been great."

3. WR Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State
As the top rated player in the class you would expect them
to flash immediately right? Well that is what Jeremiah Smith has
done plus more. He has flat out been dominant in Columbus so far, and it really hasn’t even been close. The star out of Miami spurned
the Hurricanes to to take his talents north, which was a wise decision. Now that Marvin Harrison Jr is gone to the NFL draft,
Smith has a prime opportunity to take over as wide receiver one for the
Buckeyes, and I certainly think he will eventually. He could even be better than MHJ.

4. WR Cam Coleman, Auburn
If you couldn’t tell how stacked the 2024 class was at wide
receiver then you will most definitely learn in the near future. We
have another five-star whom is a freak of nature, but this time down
south in Cam Coleman. To put it simply he is a matchup nightmare
for defensive backs. He has great size standing at 6’3, but can also
run right by you and take the top off of the defense.
Before signing with Auburn the homegrown product was originally committed to
Alabama, but the opportunity to play was greater as he is expected to start
from day one. Just take a look at Auburn’s spring game this past
weekend. Hugh Freeze and company couldn’t be happier.

5. TE Ryner Swanson, BYU
Before becoming a top ranked recruit on the football field, Ryner Swanson was a California kid who just loved to surf, play
basketball, and play baseball. While he was a great athlete, that all
changed his Sophomore year when every other sport tied into his
football game. He has been a beast ever since. Signing as a four-star
recruit, he showed out at the Polynesian All Star Game, in which he
has now parlayed right to BYU.
He has been standing out all spring as the real deal. Not only does
he have a big body to block with, but he also can run and has some
wiggle to his game after the catch. With that being said, he only has
a year to play before he goes off on a mission trip, but this one
season should be a great start to his career.
