College football fans, welcome to Portal Mania ’24, where teams are continuing to position themselves to take advantage of the talent pool on both sides of the ball.
QB Taulia Tagovailoa
Maryland Terrapins
5’11”, 208 lbs.
Having exhausted his eligibility, Taulia Tagovailoa has filed for a waiver to gain an extra year on the football field. He took two additional snaps at Alabama in 2019 in relief of his brother Tua, who went down with a severe hip injury. He was scheduled to redshirt that season, but those snaps cost him a season of play.

As the career leader in passing yards in the Big Ten with 11,256 yards, Tagovailoa has passed for over 3,000 yards in each of the last three seasons. In 2023, Tagovailoa accounted for 30 total touchdowns while completing 66% of his passes. Against Indiana, he accounted for six total touchdowns in a 44-17 win. For his efforts, Tagovailoa was named 2nd Team All Big-Ten.
Schools that make sense for Tagovailoa, should he be granted his extra year by that broken and inept collection of stiffs down at NCAA headquarters, include Miami (his brother Tua is the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins), UCLA, Washington State, and of course his home state of Hawaii.
RB Quinshon Judkins
Ole Miss Rebels
5’11”, 210 lbs.
With 2,723 rushing yards in two seasons with the Rebels, Quinshon Judkins has scored 31 touchdowns over that period. No running back in the SEC has done that since the great Herschel Walker was leaving “hobnail boot” prints, before hobnail boots were cool (and immortalized by the great Larry Munson), on opposing defender’s facemasks between the hedges in Athens, Georgia.

In 2023, Judkins rushed for 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns, and posted four games over 100 yards rushing, including three in a row. Against Texas A&M, Judkins rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-35 win. Judkins was named 1st Team All-SEC.
In 2022, Judkins rushed for 1,565 yards and 16 touchdowns on his way to earning Freshman All-American honors, Freshman of the Year, and 1st Team All-SEC. It has been reported that potential destinations for Judkins include Alabama (Judkins is from Pike Road, Alabama), Michigan, Auburn, Florida State, and Oregon.
CB Kobe Singleton
Liberty Flames
5’11”, 185lbs.
The 2023 Conference USA Cornerback of the Year and a 1st Team All-Conference USA selection, Kobe Singleton recorded 40 tackles, broke up 12 passes, and picked off four passes, and returned one for a touchdown. In two seasons at Liberty, Singleton has posted 66 tackles and six INTs.

Possible landing spots for Singleton, a Tallahassee, Florida native, are Florida State, Florida, LSU, and Miami.
WR Dorian Singer
USC Trojans
6’0”, 180 lbs.
After one year with the Men of Troy, Dorian Singer is looking for a new home. In 2023, Singer caught 24 passes from QB Caleb Williams for 289 yards and three touchdowns, with the bulk of the targets going to Tahj Washington and Brenden Rice (who combined for over 100 catches). But in 2022, Singer was a 2nd Team All PAC 12 selection after catching 66 passes for 1,105 yards and six touchdowns.

Potential destinations for Singer could be Utah, Minnesota (Singer’s home state), and should he want to stay in Southern California, how about catching a cross-town bus to Westwood and play for Chip Kelly and the UCLA Bruins. Other possibilities include Oregon and Washington.
RB Logan Diggs
LSU Tigers
6’1”, 215 lbs.
A native of Boutte, Louisiana, Logan Diggs was second on the Tigers’ team in rushing in 2023 with 653 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 5.49 yards per carry. Diggs’ high game of the season was against Missouri in which he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown in a 49-39 win.

Locations of a new home for Diggs that make sense include Tulane (close to home), Houston, and the Portal Kings of Oxford-the Ole Miss Rebels.
