In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.
1. QB Jadyn Davis will help Michigan to a top 10 class.
Farrell’s take: FACT
His impact will be felt as he’s a charismatic kid, an active recruiter, and more than willing to act as that extra recruiting coach on the trail. And Michigan is in good shape for many elite recruits out there with a good target group at many positions. The staff has done a good job of balancing top targets but also keeping others interested in case Plan A fails. Still, I’ve already seen an uptick of interest from offensive prospects since Davis committed. I think a top-10 class can happen after last year’s disappointing overall ranking.

2. The Buckeyes will still dominate the Big Ten in recruiting in 2024.
Farrell’s take: FACT
This won’t be close — again. But it will be closer. But Ohio State just landed another WR with 5-star potential, they are about to land QB Air Noland, and they are picking and choosing at many positions as they head to a top-five class. While Michigan can finish top five, Ohio State won’t drop below the top five. But does it matter? That Michigan winning streak looms large.

3. DE Colin Simmons stays in the state of Texas.
Farrell’s take: FICTION
The 5-star from Duncanville loves the recruiting attention. And Texas moved up with a solid recent visit, and their move to the SEC is something he loves. But with LSU, Georgia, and Alabama high on his list, it’s likely Simmons will leave the state and leave behind the Longhorns and TCU.
