5 More Dream NIL Partnerships

More players and brands that should link up to create great content

I wrote the other day about how one of the best upsides of the influx of NIL money in the sports was new, creative partnerships between players and brands. Let’s take a look at five more fun potential partnerships.

1. Bear Alexander, Georgia

Sponsor: Coca-Cola

I haven’t been shy about the fact that I think the big defensive tackle for the Dawgs is going to have a huge 2023, so having him as a spokesperson for the Georgia-based soda giant is a natural fit. Let’s put Bear in a commercial with the Coke Polar Bears and have them share a delicious cola and end in a bear hug. Why not?

Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle Bear Alexander (99) celebrates after sacking TCU quarterback Max Duggan (15) during the first half of the NCAA College Football National Championship game between TCU and Georgia on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in Inglewood, Calif.

2. Frank Gore Jr., Southern Miss

Sponsor: Gore-Tex

Beyond the name match, this makes sense on a lot of levels. Gore-Tex repels water. Gore Jr. repels defenders. And bringing in his legendary father for an ad campaign would be a lot of fun.

3. Dontay Corleone, Cincinnati

Sponsor: Godfather’s Pizza

C’mon, this is too easy. One of the most underrated defenders in the country, Corleone should easily be the next standout for the Bearcats on the heels of Sauce Gardner, Ivan Pace, and more. Then again, maybe he should come work for the real Godfather…

Cincinnati Bearcats defensive lineman Dontay Corleone (58) tackles Indiana Hoosiers running back Shaun Shivers (2) in the first quarter of a college football game, Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati.

4. Joe Alt, Notre Dame

Sponsor: File Vault

Alt is the best pass protector in the country, and what better sponsor than a pass(word) protector?

Oct 29, 2022; Syracuse, New York, USA; Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Audric Estime (7) leaps over the leg of offensive lineman Joe Alt (76) in the fourth quarter game against the Syracuse Orange at JMA Wireless Dome.

5. Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, and Julian Fleming, Ohio State

Sponsor: Three Musketeers

The Buckeyes’ wide receiver trio is hands-down the best in the nation and are the perfect spokespeople for the candy bar. The three of them dressed up as Athos, Porthos, and Aramis running routes would be a site to behold.

Sep 17, 2022; Columbus, Ohio, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (2) scores a touchdown around Toledo Rockets cornerback Chris McDonald (13) during the first half of the NCAA Division I football game at Ohio Stadium.
