Fact or Fiction: Urban Meyer to TAMU, Deion Sanders Next Move, Harrison or Coleman

In today’s Fact or Fiction, I look at three big recent topics in college football and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. Urban Meyer could win it all at Texas A&M.

Farrell’s take: FACT

With the Aggies’ resources, imagine the way Meyer would recruit in College Station. He’d bring in record-setting classes and likely win it all in three years. What he did at Florida and Ohio State could be even easier at A&M with this cache and abilities. If they threw so much money at Jimbo Fisher, who was a fraud, imagine why they’d throw at Urban Legend.

2. Deion Sanders would have success in College Station.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Deion could recruit there for sure, and the resources I speak of above would benefit him greatly. And his ties to Texas and the Southeast are obvious. But can he coach? We don’t know this yet. He’d lure a ton of talent in the portal, and high school recruiting would be amazing, but there is no way he could handle a job of this magnitude yet. He needs years of seasoning as a Power Five coach.

3. Keon Coleman is better than Marvin Harrison Jr.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

I’ve been seeing a few people say this, and I know why — it’s a hot take, and some people who feel they need to be heard like to go contrary to the obvious. But Harrison Jr. is probably the most well-rounded WR since Calvin Johnson came out years and years ago, and he’s a ca n’t-miss. Coleman is an amazing athlete and could be great, but let’s not be ridiculous here.

Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Keon Coleman (4) sprints down the field towards the end zone. The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Miami Hurricanes 27-20 on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023.
