When it comes to talented high school football players in Virginia, the Western Albemarle Warriors have several, including ATH Andrew Azzato.
At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Azzato plays both offense and defense for the Warriors. On offense, Azzato plays wide receiver and caught 23 passes for 445 yards and six touchdowns.
He went over the century mark in receiving yards twice and averaged almost 20 yards per catch. In addition, Azzato posted two catches of over 50 yards last season.
As a defensive back and a linebacker on defense, Azzato recorded 77 tackles, one sack, one INT, four forced fumbles, five tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. Azzato posted three games of double-digit tackles.

Against Cave Spring, Azzato recorded 10 tackles, a sack and broke up a pass. In the Spotswood game, Azzato averaged 24 yards per catch on five catches for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, he registered 12 tackles and forced a fumble in the game against Goochland and caught four passes for 120 yards and a score.
Azzato’s most productive game as a defender came against Wilson Memorial. In that game, Azzato posted 10 tackles, one INT, recovered a fumble and forced a fumble.
For his Ironman performance, Azzato was named second team All-District as both a receiver and a defensive back.
Azzato’s athleticism and versatility are highly sought-after by college coaches. Going into his senior season, college coaches could flood Azzato’s living room with visits in the months to come.
