The Lone Star State has produced talented football players over the years, with a particular interest in quarterbacks. One such player is 2026 quarterback Gavin Beard.

At 5-foot-10, 205 pounds, Beard led the Aledo Bearcats to the Texas 5A Division I quarterfinals and a 12-2 record. The Bearcats are a program that has 12 state titles in their trophy case and were victorious in 127-0 record in district games, and counting.

Beard began his football odyssey as a ninth-grader playing both wide receiver and quarterback on the varsity team. Over the next two seasons, Beard was the backup QB, just biding his time and waiting for his number to be called. When the call came, Beard was ready.

Last season as a junior team captain, Beard passed for 2,629 yards, 36 touchdowns, and only five INTs. Beard went seven straight weeks without throwing an interception and led the Bearcats on a 10-game winning streak.

Aledo averaged 53 points per game on offense last season. Beard completed 69.4 percent of his passes and led Aledo to its 17th consecutive district championship.

In two games last season, Beard was simply perfect throwing the football. Against Azle, he connected on 11 of 11 passes and threw four touchdowns in a 77-14 win.

In the game against Tascosa, Beard was a stellar 15 of 15 throwing the pigskin and threw four TDs in a blowout 62-7 victory. In these two games, Beard threw zero INTs.

As a result, Beard earned several accolades:

· First-team All-District

· First-team All-County

· Texas 5A All-State QB

· Honorable Mention All-Area (Fort Worth) Super Team

For this upcoming season, Beard has transferred to All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth, TX. The Saints are coming off an undefeated season (14-0) and a Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division II state title.

Beard puts in the work. He trains privately on his QB skills with Mike Keith, in addition to the full team practice schedule.

In the classroom, Beard puts in just as much hard work, as he maintains a 3.5 GPA. In addition, Beard has been named an Academic All-District selection three times.

Beard’s athleticism extends to the golf course as well. He plays varsity golf and was a Regional Finalist as a sophomore. Minus two under par is Beard’s best golf match so far.

On the summer football camp tour, Beard has attended camps at Incarnate Word, Texas State, and Georgetown.

Beard holds scholarship offers from such schools as Incarnate Word and Lamar University. Schools that have expressed interest in Beard include Texas State, Lamar University, and Georgetown.

The Godfather of Recruiting, Mike Farrell, said this about Beard,

“2026 verified 3-star QB Gavin Beard takes hits, delivers the ball under duress and is very creative. Good arm and excellent accuracy.”–Mike Farrell
