The competitive recruitment process for four-star offensive lineman Lamont Rogers is almost over.
Rogers recently visited Florida State but is now deciding between Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, and Missouri. The four-star offensive tackle from Mesquite, Texas, who stands at 6’6″ and weighs 305 lbs, had official visits with SMU and Missouri in May and Texas, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma in June.
A few weeks ago, Oklahoma had some work to do to become the choice, but they have made a strong late push and focused their efforts on recruiting him. The Sooners have impressed Rogers with their NFL track record, legendary O-line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, and competitive approach to NIL opportunities, which allow college athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness.

The recruitment process for Rogers is quite intense. Texas A&M has been very active in their pursuit. Although they have a new coaching staff, they could easily factor into the decision which still appears to be anybody’s battle.

The critical relationships involved in this recruitment include Offensive Line Coach Adam Cushing, who left Duke after Mike Elko took the head coaching job at Texas A&M; Brandon Jones, the Offensive Line Coach at Missouri, and Bill Bedenbaugh, the legendary Offensive Line Coach at Oklahoma.
Another name in the mix is Kyle Flood, the O-Line coach at Texas. He has NFL experience and a track record of producing monsters in the trenches.
The upcoming decision by Lamont Rogers could significantly alter the landscape and recruiting trajectory for the teams involved. Missouri is a strong contender, having made a strong impression on Rogers during his official visit, as he connected well with Brandon Jones.
Rogers and his family have a favorable view of the Sooners program, making Oklahoma a strong possibility. Oklahoma and Missouri have the best chance, with Texas A&M also in contention. However, Texas remains a wild card, making a late push and adding an element of unpredictability to the situation. He recently posted on X about Texas, saying “Staying close to home don’t sound to bad.”

Rogers is expected to announce his decision on Sunday, July 6th.
