2024 recruiting is wrapped up. I’m rolling through the most important commits at every position. Here are the most important TE signings this cycle, in my humble opinion. You can find other positions here:

  • Quarterbacks
  • Running Backs
  • Wide Receivers

1. Landen Thomas to Florida State

— Flipping him back from UGA is a massive message to the nation about FSU recruiting, and things have been on an uptick since.

Florida State 2024 5-star tight end commit Landen Thomas during an official visit on Friday, June 23, 2023, in Tallahassee, Florida.

2. Carter Nelson to Nebraska

— Matt Rhule needs to send a message, and this in-state star is a great start. He was a must-get.

3. Christian Bentancur to Clemson

— An Illinois kid with all the Midwest offers and Oregon as his leader at one point. This was a great recruiting job.

4. Michael Smith to South Carolina

— The Gamecocks need to hammer the state of Georgia in recruiting, which is a massive get.

Calvary receiver Michael Smith hauls in a Jake Merklinger pass and sprints to the end zone for a 73-yard touchdown to take a 28-21 lead over Eagle's Landing on Sept. 2.

5. Davon Mitchell to Oklahoma

— The California connection is even more important now with Lincoln Riley out there.

Here's a look at what Oklahoma is getting in new TE commit Davon Mitchell.

Mitchell is currently ranked as the 94th-best prospect in the 2024 class by Rivals.

6. Jack Larsen to Notre Dame

— A Catholic kid from North Carolina may not be a surprise, but it’s a big get in an important recruiting territory.

— He’s a big kid from Illinois, which has become an important state already for Luke Fickell.

8. Luke Reynolds to Penn State

— PSU continues to recruit the tight end position as well as anyone in the country.

Here’s a look at Penn State’s newest commitment Luke Reynolds.

9. Jaden Reddell to Georgia

— UGA isn’t hurting losing Thomas, as they have no worries recruiting tight ends. They headed right into the Midwest and landed him.
